Kittens

Today when I took Jonah outside for his afternoon/early evening duty there was a pretty little kitten on my porch.  Of course Jonah wanted to catch it, I hope to play.  But the kitten ran straight up one of the walnut trees out front.  It didn't climb up far and as soon as I got Jonah to a safe distance, it actually came down and tried again to get close to the porch.  Jonah did what he had to do and then kept trying to get to the kitten who hid itself in the shrubbery of the flower garden.  Jonah tried to get to it even though he never did.  The cat was not disturbed at all as it seemed to know it was safe.  It sat there and posed for me while I took as many pictures as I could.  It was so cute.  I have posted all the best of the photos on my Capirani Photography Blog but I just have to post at least some of them here too.  It was almost like he came to me just so I could photograph him.  Later on I did not see him around.   As I said in the other blog, sometimes I think God brings things to me to photograph since I have problems getting out to go places where I can get some nice photos. So I just want to say Thank You Jesus!

   I tell you I could not have posed this kitten any better than what it did on it's own for me.  It would not let me pick it up or really touch it, but it let me get in really close with the camera and behaved like this was totally normal while the whole time Jonah was barking and trying his best to get close to the kitten too.  Jonah got groomed today so he was looking especially spiffy for the photos too.

 

Birthday Parties and Pictures

These past few days have been busy, busy, busy. With two separate birthday parties for two of my grandchildren, and editing all the photos and videos I took at each party, it has been a busy week so far. I also finally got my old negatives put into the shoebox. I know it isn't the proper way to store them, but for now it will have to do. All the scanning of photos I had planned to get done is now done along with some additional photos I hadn't planned on. I'm glad I bought an extra memory card, this time a 2G instead of the 1G I already had. Daughter wants the pictures kept on the memory card until we can go to WalMart and get prints made. So Grandson's party pics are on one memory card and Granddaughter's party pics are on the other one. All in all, I got over 200 photos and at least 45 videos. Until I can figure out which file conversion program to get, I am uploading the videos to www.photobucket.com so that people I share the videos with can hear the sound. The only drawback there is that I have to limit the length of the videos so that they will upload. But I did figure out how to remix and combine the individual videos into one video for easier viewing. The photos are all temporarily uploaded to my Kodak gallery for the same reason of easy sharing. Once I get these photos and videos onto dvd or cd, I might remove them from these online storage places. They are not set for public viewing so my family and grandkids can keep their privacy.
Speaking of photos, have you checked my photography blog since I started adding pictures? It won't be long before I will need to get out and get more pictures for the blog. In the meantime, take a look and let me know what you think of them. There will be more added as time goes by. I don't want to add them all at once now. Wouldn't want to do that and end up with nothing to add to the blog now would I?

Cameras, Cameras, and More Cameras

The Kodak Easy Share Z885 won the camera war at WalMart today. It was pretty much my first choice of the three I had picked out online as being available. The lady helping me go through the cameras to find the best one was very knowledgable and very helpful so I felt good about having made the right choice. As my daughter and I were leaving the store later, I told her that it felt good to be spending that much money on something that wasn't just one of my medicines. Now I just have to start taking pictures. I was going to take some of my home, or even my workstation/part time office, but before I do that, I am going to have to get things cleaned up. It's that organization thing again....having to have everything in the right place, but if there is no place....it just piles up. But I am working on it. Oh, and guess what I forgot to do...yep, that's right. I forgot to take my film in to get it developed.
I was hoping to get pictures of my grandson today but he was asleep in the car by the time we got back, so my daughter decided to just go ahead and go home. That way he would get a nap in the car and be set until his afternoon nap.
By the way. I won't be putting photos of my grandkids on my blog, or anywhere else online. I know it is the big thing to do. But all of us feel it just isn't all that safe to be putting kids' pictures online where predators can get hold of them. None of my grandkids' parents want their kids' pictures online either and I respect their decisions. I do hope to have plenty of other photos on here though.
